Awards in the optical interferometry community

At the last SPIE meeting during the conference "Optical and Infrared Interferometry and Imaging VIII" prizes have been awarded to people deeply and succesfully involved on the development and the exploitation of interferometric instruments. Because the conference was held online two years ago during the pandemic, the ceremony included the 2020 awards.

The recipients were:

Guy Perrin, Fizeau Prize 2020 and Frank Eisenhauer, Michelson Investigator Prize 2020, both for, among other things, their high responsibility in the GRAVITY/VLTI consortium.

Theo ten Brummelaar, Fizeau Prize 2022, the CHARA director until his retirement in May 2022.

Sylvestre Lacour, Michelson Investigator Prize 2022, for, among other things, the precise characterization of some exoplanets he allowed with GRAVITY.

Jean-Philippe Berger, Michelson Lifetime Achievement 2022, for, among other things, his expertise in integrated optics and heterodyne interferometry ... and for his strong commitment in the french community with notably the responsibility for the JMMC tools development, of the National Service MOIO, since July 2021 :-)!
