The 10th VLTI SCHOOL IS BACK
7-18 June 2021
The school was supposed to take place in 2020 at the Sophia Antipolis technopole (France) but was delayed by almost a year due to the covid-19 crisis and became a school with 100% online lectures and tutorials.
The school is aimed at PhD students, post-doc and researchers who want to know more about the breakthrough technique of optical/IR long baseline interferometry. This year, there will be a special focus on the new mid-infrared VLTI instrument MATISSE and its application to the field of planetology and the environment of young stars. There will be courses and practice sessions on fundamentals of long-baseline interferometry, the VLTI and other facilities, the theory and modelling of circumstellar disks, and more.
More information can be found at the new school website https://vltischool2021.sciencesconf.org
The school is supported by Europe (OPTICON), JMMC, the Lagrange astrophysics lab in Nice, the Observatoire de la Côte d’Azur, and the CNRS through its Action Spécifique ASHRA.
